Digital Showroom Development for Krantz Design

For over 30 years, the artist, designer and master furniture maker behind Krantz Design, Robert Krantz, has been creating extraordinary, custom pieces of high-end furniture in Wisconsin’s Lake Country area. His beautiful furnishings are sold through a limited number of retailers and upscale art fairs and furniture shows.

Robert came to Matt Gerber Designs wanting a website for his business that would increase exposure but didn’t necessarily want to sell his products online. There were too many variables with crating and shipping, but he still wanted all his products featured on the website in a neat and orderly way. Essentially we needed to find a way to showcase his products like an ecommerce website, without enabling users to actually make online purchases.

This led us to develop his site using WooCommerce’s catalog mode. The catalog mode plugin allowed us to design a custom, digital showroom to showcase his products to potential online customers, without making them available for checkout. We were able to include large interactive pictures, product prices and nice descriptions in easy to navigate categories. We kept the design simple and clean to help the intricate designs of his furniture to really pop.
