Custom WooCommerce Site for Ki’eshgitabaaning Cultural & Healing Lodge

Ki’eshgitabaaning Cultural and Healing Lodge is a wonderful organization located in Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada that is dedicated to keeping Anishinaabe culture and cultural traditions alive. They do this by sharing their culture through workshops, podcasts, songs, and stories. In order to expand their reach and share their culture with people all over the world, they needed to get online.

Which is where Matt Gerber Designs came in. We began by discussing their needs and wants for their website. And although the primary purpose of the site was informational, getting the word out and sharing their culture with more people, there were still several other important features they wanted. These included an eCommerce aspect, donation collection, podcasts, videos and a way to sign up for  workshops and events.  

We decided the best way to accomplish all their goals was with our custom WordPress website development. It allowed us to use WooCommerce for the eCommerce portion, a secure PayPal form for donations, and easily embed videos, podcast and music samples. When the time comes, we’ll also be able to seamlessly add on a booking feature for their workshops and events. Because we always start with a custom design rather than working backwards from a template, we were able to capture the spirit of the organization with a custom look and feel that is all their own.
