Artist Website for JR by Design

JR by Design is a creative design agency located in Delafield, Wisconsin. They offer design consulting, interior design, commissioned artwork and branding services. They are wonderful storytellers and extremely talented artists, which made the task of designing their website a bit intimidating, but a tremendously rewarding process.

Robert and Janee rebranded their design business as JR by Design in 2020. They came to us at Matt Gerber Designs for help pulling their website together. They wanted a few simple pages that would tell their story and showcase their talents in an elevated and personal way.

We used black, white and shades of grey for a formal and classic color palette that allowed the photos of their works of art to stand out. White space and subtle backgrounds were used to emphasize the clean crispness of the design. We used a mix of sans serif and thin serif fonts to give subtle weight to certain words. Simple arrows were used after links instead of bold, boxy buttons for a more nature, organic feel to the clicking through or tuning the pages.
