Ecommerce Shopping Website for Homebody
Homebody is a women’s clothing boutique in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Owner Sarah Sytsma opened the store in 2019 as a place for customers to lose and discover themselves. The store was experiencing great local success, but Sarah’s dreams were bigger. She wanted to expand her reach and increase awareness beyond Wisconsin’s Lake Country.
She came to Matt Gerber Designs looking for an ecommerce website that would allow her to maintain her small-town boutique feel but reach a larger audience. Sarah wanted the website to be an extension of her store that would provide visitors with the same kind of experience they’d get walking through their boutique doors.
We were thrilled to be a part of making Sarah’s vision a reality. We designed a clean and inviting website, with a look and feel similar to their brick-and-mortar store. We used many of the same colors and textures for backgrounds as you’d find in the store as well as lots of photos to showcase their product. Rather than a single banner image, we designed a collage style banner that would allow them to feature multiple clothing items and a call to action.
Another important part of the project was ensuring the website would be easy to update. They needed to be able to change out images and messaging seasonally, for sales and as products changed. We decided to build the website using WordPress, as its interface is extremely user-friendly. WordPress also allowed us to seamlessly integrate Homebody’s shopping cart system, providing a quick, secure and trustworthy checkout process for online shoppers.
