Website Design for Chicago’s Fresh from Your Kitchen

Fresh from your Kitchen is a personal delivery meal service in the Chicago area run by Chef Leslie Guria. In recent years, her business model shifted from cooking in clients’ kitchens to delivering chef-prepared meals to clients that were prepared in her licensed commercial kitchen. She’d updated her old website to accommodate her new business model, but now it was time for a new website that would fully embrace the new plan.

Not only was Leslie a delight to work with, but we’ve never had a client make us hungrier. Leslie has made quite a name for herself as one of Chicago’s favorite personal chefs, so we were careful to keep a similar feel to the site while updating and modernizing the look. 

We began by cleaning up the fonts and top navigation. We tweaked the green and wine colors from the previous website to make them more appetizing and went with a classic black logo on white for a crisp clean header. We chose to use a similar image of Leslie for the banner, the biggest change being her setting in a commercial kitchen rather than a residential one. We also kept the white background, as it was very clean and professional – everything you’d expect from a personal chef. We broke the content out into more sections, adding headings and subheadings to help each stand out. We also added a few calls to action at the top and bottom of each page, making it easier to generate leads.
